Full time principals will normally be available for 42 weeks in any period of 12 months. A full time principle should be available for not less than 26 hours in each week on 5 days each week. If a GP is involved in the improvement of quality of care then he/she may be available on only 4 days per week. The hours of availability do not include time spent on home visits or involved in practice administration.
